All my life I had never had a good experience with Bitburger beer. The only time I may have had one in Germany was in Erlangen many years ago (or was it a Warsteiner?). Anyway, I went to a Superbowl gathering Sunday with my in-laws and one of our nephews brought me a 6-pack of Bitburger in cans. I wasn't expecting much, but I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The taste was smooth, reminiscent of authentic German beer taste, and poured with a great head just like in the Old Country.
On the other hand, it's now been three years since I was last in Germany. Maybe I'm forgetting what the true taste is.
